Hi Sophie. Roses are also my favorite. I had 34 different varieties. Mostly heirloom/heritage a few hybrids. There should be directions on how to plant them. First of all it is best to work your soil first putting a little transplant solitition in a watering or pail and if you have some will rotted manure or buy rose soil will help the transition from pot to ground. Dig your hole twice as wide as your pot and deeper than the pot. This will give plenty of room to spread their roots. You should trim and remove the canes. This also help the plant to set better. Plants go into shock. Also. You should have socked the rose for a few days before transplanting. This helps also with transfer. Before putting your plant into hole put the transplant solution in the bottom of the hole. About 4 cups. Place the rose into hole and full with soil. Once soil is in push down to firm the soil around and under the plant. Takeing the air out. Then water the top of ground. Sprinkle some more soil on top so the sun doesn't dry the soil out to fast. Soaking the rose (watering) for the few days helps the rose from going into shock as harshly. You have done well on loosening the roots. I would have directed them a little more in directions to help the plant to be more stable. But your next rose will be better. We learn as we go on when trying new things. Laura you can take cuttings from roses and start them. That is how I did it. And when I wanted to put more around the front of buildings I used cuttings from my will established roses. Some of mine are 60 to 90 years old. Maybe older because my grandparents planted the roses that went wild and are huges bushes. Also I like lilacs and peonies plus assorted bedding plants. Geraniums are great but the entrances to the house and in window boxes or on the windowsills. Flies and some other pest do not like the aroma of the plant. Sophie. Worms in your garden benefits the soil your plants live in. Chickens can find their own and if not this meal they will go without. Some times you will see chickens out in the rain to find the tasteful treat. Also dandelions are good for the soil as well. They are natural fixers. Where you find them plentiful the soil is not healthy. As the years go by there will be less and less. And where there is none the soil is healthy. Good luck in your rose garden. Also check your plants for any problems and buy them from your local greenhouse grower. They will sell hopefully number one plants and must will guarentee their plants. Where stores will not. Money saved in the long run. The baby poult are so cute. Oh yes for got to comment on the video about one guinea hen missing. Question was it a male or female? Most foul team up in threes ( Trio ) one male to two females. They are more content. I found that when I had two pairs one male disappeared. Or if not the female went to nest. Also chickens will go in the building to get their food when they are hungry enough. Great video. God Bless.

Penny would be an awful choice to put the new mare with. As much as you make out it's not her she is constantly pinning her ears back at your other horses and pulling faces at them not Storm like you always like to blame. She spends her day in the field being a mardy arse, you should go ride her the weather's been nice for a while so no excuses there. Nothing wrong with riding in a field. Maybe put the new mare out with Gracie, she is NOT Honey's mum so there is no problem there, and as your planning to sell her (I hope) it'll give her some time away from the rest of the herd. Something I have noticed it's so strange how Sophie is quiet, looks uninterested and never talks when Sam vlogs but when she's with you she's butting in and talking a lot. Interesting to see the dynamics

June is a busy month for me too, it’s a start of a new beginning, I’m having surgery to hopefully remove a tumor, to hopefully become cancer free.

Things get done when all of you get in on the chores! That chicken house looks good! I always get either the bacon chicken ranch or the Philly steak n cheese! Sam is a sweetheart out there mowing all that for the animals and then the trails to! I have noticed Storm and Penny are beginning to tolerate each other allot more here lately! Omg Laura last night I had a dream that Sophie's new horse looked exactly the same shade as willow. She looked like a nice stout horse. Not too tall but definitely a good size.
